Love Alan Rickman. I saw him as a 17 year old in Ang Lee's film adaptation of Sense and Sensibility (1995) with screenplay by Emma Thompson. He WAS Col. Christopher Brandon ...just infused light and beauty into the role and loved the integrity of his portrayal as Col. Brandon who is desperately in love with Marianne (Kate Winslet) but knows she in is love with the dashing but arrogant Willoughby(Greg Wise) and steps aside as he wants her to be happy...only later confiding to Marianne's sister Eleanor (Emma Thompson) the truth of Willoughby's secret once he sees that Willoughby has deserted Marianne for the rich Miss Grey and her substantial dowry. He only shared with Eleanor not out of spite for his rival but in his words to help lessen Marianne's regrets. Beautiful movie and one of my all time favourite films. Rest in peace Alan. Thank you for your works on stage and screen. I named my son Brandon in your honor. He's 17 now. The same age I was when this beautiful film was released❤🕊🙏
